Group compositions; working on percussion and rhythm.

On the first session of Music, we began by thinking and reflecting upon our musical journey so far by being interviewed by a partner. this in itself was slightly challenging as I've never really done this before or thought about my musical journey!

It was good however because it gave a basis to begin the music session because I was able to determine where I was and what I wanted to get out of doing music as my minor specialism.

From this therefore I came to realise that I want to do music because firstly, it is definitely a strong aspect in my life by doing it as a hobby and I have been learning piano for at least 10 years! I use music in church, at home and have already used it during work experience and I really want to use is in the future as a teacher; to inspire children from a young age that music is so important because it is in all parts of life: whether it is literal music you hear through the radio or speakers, or even the rhythm that leaves make on the trees when the wind blows.

We learnt and sang a song which could be translated and taught in the classroom- it acted as an ice-breaker as well as an introduction to our music sessions! Within the songs there were simple harmonies and rhythm and we studied how to sing together to make a perfect sound.

we finished by composing short rhythmical songs (see photo) using different instruments forming a start, middle and an end.
